Fractal beholders from space or What will 10 beholders be able to achieve together ?

There are 11 beholders in the world.

One hive mother and 10 "normal" beholders.

The hive mother is really huge and has no more eye-stalks. Let's refer to it as "she" to differentiate her from her offsprings.

She told them she was stranded on this planet when she was young and still had her eye-stalks. In time, she grew, grew and grew. Eventually, her eye-stalks were big enough to become new beholders themselves.

Of course, she had a mission.

Dominating vast areas and lesser beings was secondary. Becoming bigger and more powerful, that was a prior claim. But still subordinate to the main objective : achieving the next step in beholder existence.

She has to create a huge beholder with 10 normal-sized beholders as eye-stalks and a huge hive-mother as the central eye. She will then return in space to find the original ur-beholder and create an other bigger beholder-being till the behoder race becomes as big as a planet so as to be able to dominate the entire universe and obliterate suns on a whim.

Of course, beholders are advanced beings. They do not grow with simple food or with time : they grow as they accumulate power.

As power comes in many forms, they can grow from multiple sources : magic, knowledge, political power (open or hidden), religion, money... Choose or use them all.

Her offspring has become true and normal-sized beholders : now, they have to help their hive-mother  become a true huge central eye. They have to cooperate and unite. They have to accumulate more power than before.

What will 10 beholders be able to achieve together ?

The answer is yours but here are a few ways to differentiate your beholders in their attempt to become huge space beholder eye-stalks (along with some new powers some of their eye-stalks could develop) :

  1. - the "charm person" future eye-stalk has to seduce man-type beings with gold, power, violence, religion, etc (domination, suggestion, geas...)
  2. - the "charm monster" one should do the same with monsters (same powers but applicable to monsters),
  3. - the "sleep" one will build a drug empire (confusion, cause mental diseases, drain strength, discouraging stare, create addictions, induce non-drugs addictions),
  4. - the "telekinesis" one will make conquests from its floating city (greater levitation, play with gravity, fine manipulation telekinesis, choking grasp, force fields or huge force hands),
  5. - the "petrification" onewill specialize in alchemical research for the benefit of its brethren ("pyrofaction" (transform in fire !), liquefaction, vaporization),
  6. - the "disintegrate" one will be the master mind, the grey eminence for the others as it will do the analytical job and intelligence gathering for the others (magical identification, "dustomancy", powder-clair/audience/voyance, ashes-teleport),
  7. - the "fear" one should unite and use the others' powers and achievements to create a name for itself which will be, known, loathed and feared throughout the known world (terror aura,
  8. - the "slow" one will create an army of slow but unstoppable monsters (titanic acidic slugs, huge snails with a paralyzing gaze, fire proof ant swarms, etc) working with an army of lightning fast monsters like giant praying mantises, razor cheetahs or colossal chameleons (stone to mud, strong winds, drain intelligence and wisdom),
  9. - the "cause serious wound" one will create and spread magical diseases, develop weapons inflicting non curable wounds and design new torture devices no one has ever seen,
  10. - the "death ray" one will create bane weapons against specific and important targets, and will have many new powers like life ray, fire ray, sound ray, et
